Student Research and Scholarship Day

USCB's Student Research and Scholarship Day, in late April, gives you an opportunity to present your best work before a large audience. It’s useful experience. It looks good on a resume. English students typically enter the “Oral Presentations” category. You can read a paper you have written for a class, do a reading of your creative writing, or perform (with others) a dramatic scene. Your presentation needs to be 15-20 minutes long.

Watch for announcements about due dates and procedures. You’ll need a faculty mentor willing to sponsor your project, and you’ll need to send a Statement of Intent with a title in early March. In early April, you, with your mentor’s help, need to finish a 250 word abstract or artist statement. The presentations will occur on Student Research and Scholarhship Day in late April.
