Our new Reduced Tution Plan for Active Military offers the following benefits to you...

• 100% of government authorized tuition and fees paid
• No additional out of pocket expenses (except textbooks)
• Courses conveniently delivered on Beaufort and Bluffton campuses
• Reduced tuition covers all baccalaureate course work and is effective Fall 2009
• All active duty military receiving tuition assistance are eligible

You are entitled to a percentage as determined by your length of active duty service, of the following:

• Amount of tuition and fees charged not to exceed the most expensive in-state public undergraduate tuition at an institution of higher education
• A monthly housing allowance (restrictions apply)
• Stipends for books and educational supplies (restrictions apply)

If you served on active duty after September 10, 2001, there’s an exciting new opportunity for you regarding government money now available to help you earn a college degree. You’re not the only one who can benefit though – your spouse or dependents can take advantage of this new educational opportunity if you choose.

The United States Department of Veteran Affairs has announced the establishment of Chapter 33 title 38 U.S.C. – the Post 9/11 bill which takes effect in August, 2009. If you qualify for this benefit, you can use the money for tuition, fees and books at the University of South Carolina Beaufort – the most affordable four-year university in the state of South Carolina. In addition to costs related to your academic programs, you may qualify to receive money for housing expenses, too.

Yellow Ribbon Program at USCBYellow Ribbon

University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is pleased to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program and to offer eligible military veterans and their dependents an opportunity to attend USCB tuition-free.

The Yellow Ribbon GI Educational Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans' Educational Assistance Act of 2008.  Effective for the 2010-2011 academic year, USCB is partnering with the U. S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to offer the Yellow Ribbon Program. Through veteran's benefits and USCB's financial contribution, many non-resident veterans and their dependents can take advantage of an education that is tuition-free.
