Freshman

An applicant who is a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident and is completing or has completed a high school or secondary school education and has not taken a college or university course after graduating from high school.

Transfer Student

An applicant who is a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident, and who, having graduated from high school, has attended another regionally accredited postsecondary institution and attempted one or more courses.

International Student

A student who is neither a U.S. citizen nor a U.S. permanent resident and is completing or has completed high school or secondary school.

Returning Student (Former USCB Student)

A student who has previously taken courses at USCB or any other USC campus as a degree-seeking student.

Non-Degree Seeking Student

A student who wishes to attend USCB for one semester or on a limited basis as a special or transient student can be classified as a non-degree seeking student. The following applicant types are classified as a Non-Degree applicant:

  • Active-Duty Military Students
  • Concurrent/ Dual Enrollment
    Students who are currently in high school and wish to take USCB courses while completing their high school course work.
  • Senior Citizen Students
    Senior citizens age 60 and older who wish to take USCB courses.
  • Transient Students
    Students who wish to take a course at USCB and then return to their home institution.
