For Employees in FTE Positions

The Tuition Assistance program at the University of South Carolina Beaufort allows eligible faculty and staff the opportunity to further their education and increase their potential for advancement within the University. Specifically, the program allows eligible faculty and staff to take one three credit hour course (four hours in the case of a lab course) per academic term at no charge, on a space available basis. Employees are limited to four three credit hour courses (four hours in the case of a lab course) per academic year or the equivalent. For Employees in Research Grant or Time-Limited Positions

The Tuition Reimbursement program for employees in research grant or time-limited positions varies from the Tuition Assistance program for employees in FTE positions. The Tuition Reimbursement program allows eligible employees to receive tuition assistance in the form of reimbursement for a specific course based on the grade the employee receives in the course. USC requires the employee to sign a promissory note to pay for the tuition should the required grade not be earned. Specifically, the program allows eligible research grant or time-limited employees to take one three credit hour course (four hours in the case of a lab course) per academic term on a space available basis.
