Why Live on Campus?
Research involving college students nationwide has long indicated that students who live on campus are more satisfied with their college experience, earn higher grades, and are more likely to graduate.
Living on campus at USCB puts you just steps away from the dining hall, the fitness center, the library and a wide array of student services. Can’t function without Starbucks in the morning? Swing through the Hawk’s Nest on your way to class and you’ll add only a few minutes to your morning commute. Spend more time doing what you love on campus instead of wasting time and gas on the road.
By living on campus, you’ll find it easy to get connected with one of the 30 + clubs and organizations on campus, a student employment opportunity, intramural sports, or one of the wide range of service opportunities available through Student Life.
Enjoy the simplicity of having all utilities included in your housing costs. By living on campus, you avoid the hassle of having to pay your water, electric, cable, and internet bills separately. With a washer/dryer in your apartment, you’ll never have to scrounge for quarters when your laundry basket is overflowing.
The Department of Public Safety offers 24-hour coverage with immediate response to calls for service. The residence halls are staffed with Resident Assistants for each tower and two live-on professional staff members to help monitor the halls.
Living on campus will expose you to the emotional, social, and academic support necessary to be successful as a student. Your Resident Assistant will serve as a first contact for many common issues. Counseling, tutoring, career services and a variety of social activities are all practically at your doorstep if you live on campus. You’ll also enjoy easy access to faculty and other staff members.
