University Housing has trained professional and paraprofessional staff that can assist the victim in locating assistance and services needed. Housing staff can be reached after hours at (843) 208-8371 or (843) 208-8372. Housing has both Resident Assistants (student staff) and a professional staff member on-call 24/7.

Hope Haven of the Lowcountry is an off-campus resource that provides short-term counseling, as well as crisis intervention. Services are provided for all victims, no matter when the assault occurred. The 24-hour hotline number is (800) 637-7273. Some of the services that Hope Haven can provide to victims of sexual violence are as follows:

  • 24-hour hotline staffed by counselors trained to offer support and services
  • Forensic medical evaluations performed by pediatric nurse practitioners
  • Evidence-based mental health treatment
  • Survivor support groups and victim rights education
