Academic Support is a service within the Student Success Center that exists to help students reach their academic goals. Below are some of the services offered by Academic Support:
Through Early Intervention efforts, the University attempts to identify at-risk students early in the semester and help set them on the right track.
SI is an academic support model developed at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in 1973 that uses peer-assisted study sessions to improve student retention and success within targeted historically difficult courses. SI will be offered at USCB for the first time during the fall of 2016 in one section each of CHEM 109, MATH 111, & MATH 111L. More courses may be added in future semesters.
USCB offers FREE one-on-one tutoring in various courses in Library rooms 219-234. Students can book appointments in advance using this link: www.uscb.edu/tutoring.
This workshop series covers a variety of topics such as time management, study skills, and emotional intelligence. A workshop schedule is created each semester. Fall 2016 Academic Workshop Schedule can be obtained by clicking the link below.
