Ann-Marie Adams, MS MLS
Instructor, Communication Studies
I believe literacy is a critical component of creating opportunities, both socially and economically. At the University of South Carolina Beaufort, I engage students in critical thinking and rhetoric to amplify their voices in public communications in various scenarios and across multiple platforms (traditional and digital).
I hold a Master of Science in Communications from Ithaca College and a Master of Legal Studies from Washington University in St Louis School of Law with a certificate in Employment Law. My current consultancy practice focuses on litigation public relations and communications. I have over two decades of experience in media relations, corporate communications, social networking, non-profit leadership, civic engagement, and advocacy. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from East Tennessee State University.
My passion for literacy consistently links my professional and personal endeavors. As such, my research interest focuses on the evolution of discourse and the multi-mobile nature of human interaction, and the laws that govern and enforce our communication on these platforms.
