As an educator, my teaching experiences are numerous and diverse. Before starting my professional teaching career, I served as a volunteer instructor for the American Red Cross in Colorado, South Carolina, and Georgia. I started my professional career as a Montessori Teacher and later moved to public education. I spent 15 years teaching for Beaufort County School District, focusing on science and engineering. I earned a BS in Education from SUNY Plattsburgh with a minor in Environmental Science and a MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. I am currently pursuing my EdD in Educational Practice and Innovation with a concentration in STEM Education from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. I am a Certified Educator for the Engineering is Elementary Program through the Museum of Science in Boston and a certified Master Naturalist through the Lowcountry Institute. I volunteer as a community educator and victim advocate for Hopeful Horizons. I hope to instill a passion for teaching in my students and a passion to serve others and the community.
