Study Biology on the Coast

The Natural Sciences Department at USCB provides students with deep knowledge in the biological sciences and significant exposure to the physical sciences. We offer:

Bachelor of Science in Biology

With optional concentrations in:

  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Coastal Ecology and Conservation
  • Marine Biology

Through USCB's laboratories and partnerships in the public and private sectors,  we offer student research opportunities, field work, internships and other hands-on scientific experiences for undergraduates.

Honors

High achieving students who plan to major in Biology are encouraged to apply to USCB’s Beaufort College Honors program. BCH students in Biology who live in Beaufort campus housing are eligible for the 1795 Scholarship.

Minor in Chemistry

Chemistry at USCB can be a minor for students majoring in other academic disciplines.
The requirements for a Chemistry minor are:

CHEM B321/B321L, CHEM B333/B331L, CHEM B334/B332L, and 4-6 additional hours at 300+ level.

Students are strongly encouraged to discuss with their advisor before declaring a minor.
