Anna Carol Ptacin, MSN, RN, TCRN, CEN, PCCN
Instructor of Nursing
I am an Instructor in the Department of Nursing at the University of South Carolina Beaufort, and primarily teach at the USC Salkehatchie campus in Walterboro. I am deeply passionate about this role, in part because I was once a nursing student at the Salkehatchie campus! I graduated with my BSN in 2015 and gained my MS in Nursing Administration from USC in 2022. My professional career includes six years of progressive care nursing with cross training to intensive care, and two years of emergency nursing. I am a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), and the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society. I maintain a part-time position in the emergency department, since I value staying current with bedside nursing care. I hold specialty certifications as a progressive care certified nurse (PCCN), certified emergency nurse (CEN), and trauma certified registered nurse (TCRN). It is my goal to give our nursing students a solid foundation via experiential learning, respect their differences by utilizing a nuanced approach to their education, and ultimately empower them to become capable clinicians and compassionate caregivers who can improve the future of nursing.
