I am an Associate Professor in the Nursing Program at the University of South Carolina
Beaufort. I have over 14 years of experience as a nurse educator in undergraduate
and
graduate nursing programs. I have experience in mental health care, critical care,
family
practice, women’s health, and pediatric care. I worked for 10 years as a medical-legal
nurse consultant and have held various leadership positions throughout my nursing
career.
I maintain board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through ANCC.
My doctoral work focused on nursing and incivility in the healthcare setting. Research
interests include civility in the academic and healthcare settings, nursing curriculum,
pediatric psychosocial wellness, and the overall health and wellness of nursing staff.
I am an
active member of the Board of Trustees for the South Carolina Nurses Foundation. In
addition, I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society, South Carolina
Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, and the National League for Nurses.
