Health Care at USCB is Through Community Partnerships
We recognize that student health and well-being are important aspects of student
success. Although the University of South Carolina Beaufort does not have an on-campus
health center, the university is located very close to several healthcare facilities,
including urgent care, three hospitals, and two DHEC clinics to provide excellent
care for students, faculty, and staff. Our newest partnership with DHEC provides a
number of services..
What DHEC Provides for USCB Students
South Carolina's DHEC (Department of Health and Environmental Control) will provide the following:
- Pap smear and breast exam
- Contraception
- Testing for sexually transmitted infection
- HIV PrEP referral for confidential care
- HIV and Hepatitis C testing
- Select immunizations
- Referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
