USCB Supports 25 Local Families and Fights Child Abuse with Thanksgiving Baskets
Faculty News
Jim Glasson, M.A., Human Services internship coordinator, reports that 25 local families
enjoyed a complete Thanksgiving dinner thanks to the generosity of our university
community. The Social Sciences department collected $540 for families that participated
in the Child Abuse Prevention Association’s parenting support groups, known as P.S.
We Love You. The families earned Thanksgiving baskets by participating in parenting
education classes and volunteering at the agency, which provides prevention services
and operates a shelter for abused and neglected children. Each basket held a turkey
and all the fixings for a complete Thanksgiving dinner.
