USCB Salutes 45 Standout Students at its Inaugural Celebratory Event
Student News, Faculty News
Forty-five students, selected by the faculty for excellence in academics, enthusiasm, balance and involvement in the USCB community, were honored as USCB Standout Students at a reception in January. The program’s goal is to alert Standout Students to internships, scholarships and fellowship opportunities available in their chosen disciplines.
The Standout Student Program was created by a faculty team led by Kim Ritchie, Ph.D., chair of the Students’ Scholarship and Fellowship Committee, which organized the event. The committee consists of: Kim Cavanagh, Ph.D., Beth Hammond, Ph.D., assistant professor and assessment coordinator in the Department of Education; and Babet Villena-Alvarez, Ph.D., assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs (interim) and a professor of French, Spanish and Global Studies.
