Track and Field Shines at JDL Camel City Invitational

Track and Field runnersThe USCB indoor track and field teams showed why they are poised for another Sun Conference season, with several school records falling recently. 

Women's Highlights:

Jaslyn Joseph moved the USCB indoor mark in the Triple Jump to 10.91 (35' 9.5") with Iyana McKeever just behind her with a jump of 10.53 (34' 6.25")

Joseph also ran a 9.9 in the 60m, which was just off the school mark by .3 seconds.

Men's Highlights:

In the 60m dash, Kadari Mitchell hit a qualifying time of 7.05, good enough to set the new USCB mark by .10 seconds.

The long jump saw a new school mark set by Mitchell, who jumped 5.94m (19' 6") while teammate Dementrius Davis jumped 5.79m (19').

Brett Freed ran a new school best in the 1 Mile, coming across at 4:18.5 with Christian Slaton right behind him at 4:31.49.

In the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team of Freed (1200m), Davis (400m), Elijah Merida (800m), and Cristian Slaton (1600m) ran a USCB indoor record  time of 10:44.99.
