Message from Dr. Al M. Panu, Chancellor

Maintaining academic excellence has served as one of four guiding principles
throughout all institutional planning during this challenging pandemic period. I am
pleased that this edition of Fin-tastic is yet another capture of the many ways
colleagues have elevated academic excellence and student success. Many have
risen above expectations and performed well in light of all our challenges. USCB
benefits from the energies and momentum provided by these faculty and staff who
relentlessly pursue excellence to serve the USCB community, their discipline, and
beyond. As we seek to improve the potentials and future lives of our students, it is
incumbent upon us to ameliorate our ways of knowing as well. I share with you this
edition of Fin-tastic to serve as inspiration to make our USCB stronger and better.
