USCB Hires Teagan O'Connor as Director of Career Services

The University of South Carolina Beaufort recently added a new staff member who is poised to make a big impact on both the student body and the surrounding community.

Teagan O'Connor has taken on the role of Director of Career Services and is eager to get started mentoring students of all majors and academic years.

"I love working with the college population," O'Connor said. "It is something really special to help students launch their futures."

As a Certified Professional Resume Writer, O'Connor brings a wealth of experience in career development, higher education, and non-profits. With over 10 years of experience in helping students and others reach their highest potential, she excels at building relationships and collaborating with clients to help them succeed.

O’Connor received her Master of Public Administration degree from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public School and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Magna Cum Laude from Manhattanville College. Her prior roles include Career Counselor & Employer Relations Coordinator at Manhattanville College and Development Coordinator at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York.

Immediately before joining USCB, O'Connor worked as a freelance resume writer and career coach, helping clients throughout the country in various industries and and stages of their careers capitalize on their skills and expertise. At USCB, she will help students develop their resumes, interview skills, and professional presentation, in addition to serving as a liaison with the Lowcountry business community. She will help employers seeking to develop talent and recruit for the area’s growing workforce.

"I want students to know that I'm here as a resource from freshman year on," O'Connor said, "Ideally I’d like them to start early to help them on their career journey during college."

The University of South Carolina Beaufort looks forward to the positive outcomes of O'Connor's efforts as she works with the Sand Shark community.
