Xuwei Liang, PhD
Associate Professor of Computational Science
I am an Associate Professor of Computational Science in the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of South Carolina Beaufort, where I have served as a faculty member since 2011. I hold a PhD in Computer Science from University of Kentucky, a MS in Applied Statistics from Bowling Green State University, and a ME in Computer Control from Tiangong University in China. In addition, I hold a BE in Technological Optics from Beijing Institute of Technology in China.
My research interests include Computational Biomedical Imaging especially Diffusion Tensor Imaging, Data Visualization, Pattern Recognizing, and Machine Learning. My research has been published more than 20 papers in various journals and conference proceedings. I have been serving as the CO-PI for a RII Track-2 NSF/EPSCOR grant, and PI for several internal grants. In addition, I served as the peer-reviewer for many conferences and journals in my research area, such as the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics.
