One University Boulevard
My name is Libby Ricardo, and I am an Associate Professor of Theater and Interdisciplinary Studies in the Department of English, the Arts, and Interdisciplinary Studies at USCB. I also serve as Program Coordinator for the Interdisciplinary Studies Program.
I am an award-winning actress, director, and teacher who has appeared in stage, television, and film productions throughout the country.
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts in 2008, and a Master of Fine Arts in Performance at the University of Georgia in 2012.
While enrolled at the Tisch School, I took a wide variety of courses at the Stella Adler Studio, at the Bali Conservatory, and at the International Theater Workshop in Amsterdam.
I made my theater debut at the age of 10, singing in La Boheme and Carmen with an opera company in Providence, Rhode Island. I was cast in the annual production of A Christmas Carol put on by the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence. I have been performing ever since. Favorite roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Viola in Twelfth Night, Rosaura in Life is a Dream, Jesse in Cry It Out, and Rona in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Favorite directing projects include Art, Little Shop of Horrors, and Godspell.
The emphasis in my teaching and research is the promotion of theater skills as life skills, including extensive work with simulated patient programs.
