Angela L. Nadeau, MA
Instructor, Psychology
One University Boulevard
My training and professional background is in individual and group counseling using cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based treatment strategies, and psychodynamic theoretical models in outpatient, university and private-practice settings. I earned a BA from the University of New Hampshire and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University. In 2007, I created and launched an academic success center at York County Community College in Maine and directed that center for a decade before shifting my focus to full-time teaching. I was an instructor at UofSC and Kennesaw State University before joining the faculty full-time here at USCB in 2022.
I continue to explore how people learn in contemporary contexts and have studied student engagement, student success and high impact learning strategies in online and face-to-face learning environments. I emphasize application of theories to real-life and I often include case studies, hands-on activities, discovery-based discussions and reflective exercises to provide a “real world” experience for students within the classroom. I genuinely love teaching at the undergraduate level and am inspired by students’ commitment and passion for psychology. I am always happy to speak with students who are interested in research or a career in psychology, counseling, learning, or well-being.
