Internship Coordinator,
Department of Human Services
I am responsible for the overall coordination of the Human Services students’ internship experiences and their professional development along with being the Faculty Advisor to the Human Services Student Organization. My goals are to assist students obtain success through academic advisement and community engagement, guide them through their development of professional and leadership skills and to support the Department in its recruiting and retention initiatives.
Prior to joining USCB, I enjoyed a 30+ year career as a Global Human Resources manager with a major telecommunications firm. My specialty areas were management development and college recruiting/university relationships. In this HR role, I was also was responsible for corporate/community outreach partnerships and employee volunteerism and engagement.
My undergraduate degree is from Cornell University in Ithaca NY where I received a BS in Community Service and Education. My graduate work was accomplished at the University of North Carolina’s School of Global Public Health where I was granted a MPH in Health Behavior and Education.
I directed an afterschool tutoring program in downtown Beaufort specifically designed for disadvantaged and underserved elementary school students, and continue to maintain a strong community involvement. My other interests include a variety of college sports (especially the Cornell Big Red hockey and lacrosse teams), Formula 1 auto racing and travel.
I look forward every day to inspiring students in the Department of Public Health & Human Services to be active, engaged and enthusiastic learners.
