Sand Sharks Gain Real World Skills Through Public Health Experiential Learning
Our public health undergraduate internship program at the University of South Carolina Beaufort offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various public health settings. Students who complete public health internships gain valuable experience in
- Community health
- Epidemiology
- Health promotion and disease prevention
- Environmental health
USCB faculty and staff work closely with students to ensure they receive mentorship and guidance throughout their Field Experience and Internship. With a focus on preparing students for a successful public health career, USCB public health experiential learning offers valuable networking opportunities and practical skills that will enhance students' resumes.
Juniors in USCB's Public Health program do 90 hours of Field Experience (PUBH B390), and Seniors complete a 135-hour Internship (PUBH B480). Both experiences give students opportunities for hands-on practical work in the community. Students take what they have learned in the classroom and apply this knowledge to real world settings in public health and education. To sign up for your experiential learning courses, complete the internship agreement form with the organization and return to Mr. John Leadem electronically at jleadem@uscb.edu.
For more information about field experience/internship opportunities for Public Health majors, please contact John Leadem at jleadem@uscb.edu or 919-302-4347.
