UCSB Resident Assistant Job Description and Requirements
A Resident Assistant (RA) is a well-rounded student staff member responsible for building a positive community by organizing creative social and educational activities, fostering a safe environment and establishing 1-on-1 relationships with residents. RAs promote student development by serving as a resource for academic support, housing policies and procedures and by encouraging involvement in the diverse campus community at USCB.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must be a full-time USCB student for at least one semester. Candidates must maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.50. Approved employment in addition to the RA job will be limited to 15 hours of on-campus or 10 hours of off-campus work.
Terms of Employment
RAs are appointed for one full academic year. RAs are required to be full-time students, but they are not permitted to carry more than 18 credit hours per semester without permission from their supervisor. RAs must be in good academic and judicial standing in order to be appointed and remain in the RA position.

Candidates will be contacted regarding Group Evaulation Process
February 8th, 2025:
Group Evaulation Process Day
February 12th, 2025:
Candidates will be contacted to schedule individual interview
February 17th-21st, 2025:
Individual interviews held in person at the Housing office
March 5th, 2025:
Offer emails sent out to selected applicants.
Email sent to alternate candidates.
Email sent to candidates not selected.
March 26th, 2025:
Deadline to accept or decline the RA position.
