Public Health Scholarship Program at USCB
The University of South Carolina Beaufort's Public Health Scholarship program provides future and current degree seeking health professionals with scholarships to finish their bachelor’s degree in public health.
Students with a strong interest in caring for medically underserved communities across the continuum of care and promote diversity within the profession to address health outcomes with cultural sensitivity are encouraged to apply. To be eligible to renew their scholarship, students must maintain a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
Scholarships range from 60-100% of tuition and fees based on in-state full time status and guaranteed for one year given eligibility requirements are met.
Scholarship Eligibility
- You are only eligible if your tuition and fees are not covered by another scholarship. If you have existing scholarships that pay for your tuition and fees, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
- A 2.5 or C+ average is required for scholarships. To receive and maintain the scholarship, you must remain a Public Health major at USCB. Current recipients do not need to reapply for the scholarship. They will be automatically reviewed for renewal.
- Public Health Program Scholarships are awarded based upon a cumulative review of a candidate's scholarship application and submitted work.
- Public Health: Nursing Interest majors are not eligible for this scholarship.

USCB PUBLIC HEALTH Scholarship Application
- Brief Statement: (300 words) by the applicant that highlights their interest in graduating and pursuing a career in the public health field. (The Statement is included in the Application).
Scholarship Criteria
- Minimum 2.5 GPA required to apply.
- Accepting applications on an ongoing basis.
- Applicants who do not follow the guidelines and/or are missing any of the requirements will not be considered for review.
Applications are reviewed by the Public Health Scholarship committee. Selected recipients will receive an award notification by email.
